Time has passed as if in a flash! In August 2019 I started my training at Brady/Seton. Now I am already in the 3rd year and will probably complete my training in June 2022. I would like to tell you about my experiences of the past 3 years:
Furkan in his work in production
After completing the school, I was sure that I would definitely like to practice a technical profession. That is why I applied as a “media technologist print” with a specialty digital print. In order to get to know the profession and the work environment, I had the chance to work for a week. In my decision, this short “internship” confirmed that this training is just the right thing for me.
I like it that there is no shift work, so I can start my work between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. In the morning I first read my emails with unexplained orders and then plan in which order I will edit the orders. Flexibility is required here because urgent orders can mess up my planned workflow. I find it particularly interesting to prepare the machines for different orders and to control the entire process. Much of my tasks are testing badges to adapt and print according to customer requirements taking layout requirements into account.
In the vocational school that I attend weekly, technical and theoretical knowledge of the entire process from the preliminary stage to the finished product is taught. In the meantime I am in the 3rd year and have learned to take more responsibility. I work independently and now represent my colleagues within our team. In training, you have to be always ready to learn new software and technology, as each machine places special requirements and Seton regularly invests in new machines. So it never gets boring! I would always choose to train as a media technology – digital printing.
