Fires in production and storage areas can quickly cause significant damage to property. In order to be able to react quickly in such situations, many companies rely on mobile extinguishing technology. Minimax Mobile Services has now expanded its offering in this area and offers roll container extinguishing systems as standard models ready for series production.

The devices are available in two versions: One version works with 250 kilograms of powder in fire classes A, B and C or B and C or D, the other with 120 kilograms of carbon dioxide for use in sensitive or electrical environments. According to the manufacturer, the systems are based on existing special solutions that have now been converted into a unified product concept.

Minimax is thus responding to the demand of many companies that previously had to order individual systems. The goal: shorter planning times and easier integration into existing fire protection concepts.

Flexible thanks to Euro pallet dimensions

A central feature of the new model is the format: with a basic size of 1200 millimeters by 800 millimeters, the roll container corresponds to the standard of a Euro pallet. This makes it easier to transport, for example on vehicles with a tail lift or in roll-off containers. Forklift pockets enable loading by forklift.

According to the manufacturer, operation is kept simple. The roll containers are designed for temperatures between minus 20 and plus 60 degrees Celsius and can be moved by hand. Four steerable castors with brakes and drum brakes ensure stability, and a mechanical dead man’s brake prevents unintentional rolling away.

The new model is based on the requirements of a broad user group

According to Minimax Mobile Services, the new product range is aimed at a wide range of users – from factory fire departments to municipal emergency services to industrial companies.

However, it remains unclear to what extent standardization replaces individual adaptation to complex dangerous situations. In companies with specific fire risks – for example in the chemical industry or in metal processing companies – a tailor-made solution can still make sense. Holger Messner, head of the fire extinguisher business unit at Minimax Mobile Services, emphasizes that custom-made products remain part of the offer. The difference: The new series is intended to make it easier to get started with mobile extinguishing systems, while specialized versions for special operating conditions remain available.

With the introduction of the series models, Minimax Mobile Services is responding to a clear trend in operational fire protection: the desire for flexible, transportable and at the same time powerful extinguishing systems. Whether the standardized concept proves successful in practice will depend on how well it can be adapted to different operational environments.

For many companies, the lower procurement costs are likely to be an argument. It remains to be seen critically whether the standardized design achieves the same efficiency as previous special solutions under real operating conditions – especially where large areas, changing fire loads or sensitive systems pose special requirements.
