Last year, the global standard for graphic symbols for safety marking, EN ISO 7010, was expanded to include additional symbols. The new symbols are:

Disinfect hands, M061

The commandment sign shows two hands, one in the foreground, the other in the background. The hands are under a disinfectant dispenser and three lines with four dots each. The sign makes it clear that hands must be disinfected. This is intended to avoid dangers such as infections or contamination.

Areas of use for this symbol include, for example, workplaces and healthcare facilities.

Disinfect surface, M062

The illustration shows a disinfectant wipe with three wavy lines, a hand is on the disinfectant wipe; two viruses and two bacteria on the left are wiped away. The mandatory sign draws attention to the fact that surfaces must be disinfected. Clear labeling is intended to prevent infections and contamination.
