Botfellows, a spin -off from Fraunhofer IWU, will publicly present your software solution Botfellows Dynamic Safety for the first time. The system enables the safe cooperation between people and robots without separating fences – a milestone for automation close to production.

Dynamic Safety: Dynamic security zones instead of rigid barriers

Instead of traditional protective concepts, Botfellows relies on intelligent security logic that dynamically adjusts robot movements. Speed ​​and radius of movement are reduced in real time – but only if a person actually approaches the work area. If sensors and cameras recognize no danger, the robot continues to work in full range of functions. This not only increases security, but also increases productivity – without separating fences, without long downtimes.

MRK scenarios to the test: three forms of cooperation

The live demonstration at the exhibition stand with an industrial robot from ESTUT Automation impressively shows how “Botfellows Dynamic Safety” enables various forms of human-robot interaction-for example in the palleting:

  • coexistence: Man and robot work in parallel in the same area – the robot palletized, man checks or stocked.
  • cooperation: Man and robot alternate in their activities – for example with different product types.
  • collaboration: People and robots intervene at the same time – the robot lifts, positioned people.

All three scenarios demonstrate how efficiency, ergonomics and flexibility in production can be improved – without the compromise of conventional security concepts.

Direct integration into the control – without additional effort

The Chemnitz robotics specialists have developed the software together with ESTUT so that it is directly integrated into the robot control – without additional hardware, interfaces or gateways. “This is the key to flexible automation: no additional complexity, but seamless integration with maximum security,” explains CEO Dr.-Ing. Mohamad Bdiwi.
