Uniform standards and norms ensure easier communication and easier international cooperation. In this context, safety signs according to EN ISO 7010 play a major role. The internationally standardized symbols ensure safe behavior across countries through bans, commands and warnings about dangers.

The prohibition sign P080 – “No entry for unauthorized persons” was recently added

EN ISO 7010 symbol P080 - Access prohibited for unauthorized persons

It is similar to the prohibition sign D-P006 “No entry for unauthorized persons” in accordance with ASR A1.3, DIN 4844-2, which is common in Germany

D-P006 “Access for unauthorized persons prohibited” according to ASR A1.3, DIN 4844-2

The difference:

With the EN ISO 7010 symbol, the red bar is in the foreground. This means that the sign is designed in the same way as all other prohibition signs in EN ISO 7010. As tests have shown, this is generally more understandable than the sign according to ASR 1.3.Do existing signs need to be replaced immediately?

No. ASR A1.3 is a national occupational safety rule that specifies the use of safety signs for Germany. It is regularly revised to keep up with EN ISO 7010, but the changeover is a process, so established signs from, for example, DIN 4844-2 remain valid for the time being.

However, it is planned to use the national security symbol D-P006, Access for unauthorized persons prohibited, from DIN 4844-2 to be changed in accordance with EN ISO 7010.

So you can’t say which sign is the right one. Both signs are legally compliant. Experts recommend labeling according to the current state of the art, i.e. primarily according to the new ASR A1.3 in conjunction with EN ISO 7010, in order to ensure uniform, internationally understandable signage.
